The first few weeks in September bring an interesting patriotic theme to social studies class. Last week, on September 12, I entered into a great discussion with your students about the events of 9/11/2001. We were not able to get through the lesson because of intense interest and excellent discussion, but we will resume it this week.
Constitution Day is Wednesday, September 17th. We have been studying the Constitution--with activities focusing on the Preamble and the Bill of Rights. This week, we are dissecting the Three Branches of Government (brochure due by Friday -- see "When is that Due?" page), and we will be watching National Treasure!
Interim reports should go home on 7th Period Wednesday. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me! Parent Teacher Conferences are NEXT WEEK! :) They are early this year -- hope to see you there!
