Hello Families!
If you have been getting notifications from HAC or the CPS app, you might have noticed that your student now has at least 3 grades for the school year! Most of them are doing REALLY well, but here's some helpful hints to make sure they have the best year yet!
1. Check their planner. If they have a quiz or big assignment, I will make the time to check if they wrote it down.
2. If you see something strange pop up on your app (like a zero, when your child almost ALWAYS turns things in), please don't hesitate to email. We have a new grading system, and quite often, it's just a glitch. I'm more than happy to help on this--please tell me your child's first and last name, and class period if you know it. :)
3. Speak to your student about their bellringer. It is ten "gimmie" points a week. They know they either have to copy the question and give a single word answer OR answer the question fully in CSRQ. If they do not do this, or capitalize and punctuate correctly, they get counted off. We go over ALL the answers before they turn it in at the end of the week, and they are given time to correct it.
Last but not least, just talk to your kiddo. They have GREAT thought processes and personalities that I'm loving getting to know. As the weeks go on, they will learn all kinds of new things about history and their world.
Sincerely,
Beth Tyler
