Hello Families!
This week, your students completed a Geography Challenge. It was very...challenging. The good news is, they're growing their geographic knowledge every day! They are also learning how to dissect difficult directions, listen closely, and work with a partner to make sure they're on track!
This week, they located major deserts in the Middle East and Africa, and identified the Mediterranean Sea, the Nile, and the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. We also discussed the Fertile Crescent, the Great Rift Valley, and the Nile River Valley. All of these will lead in to our coming conversations on WHY early people settled where they did.
Feel free to ask your student about the map work they've done, and look for other ways to share world maps with your kiddos -- there's always something new to learn! As of right now, there are no quizzes or big projects in the near future.
Here's a link to National Geographic Kids Atlas. Good times!
Have a great 3 day weekend!
